Summer LEAP Program Postponed

Summer LEAP Program Postponed
Posted on 05/15/2020

As the state starts to open businesses in Arizona, positive data reflects a decline in hospitalizations in Maricopa County in the beginning dates of May.
At this time, it has been determined that there is insufficient health data to approve the opening of the Summer LEAP Program as originally expected on May 27th.This decision will be reassessed on June 1st by the Liberty Elementary School District Governing Board. It will be discussed whether or not to delay the start of the Summer LEAP Program/activities and the new anticipated start date of June 15th or remain closed. Based on information provided by public health agencies and other metrics used to determine safe opening of community and school related activities, we anticipate being able to publish a new start date if advisable. An update with the decision will be communicated to all families via email.

As always, the safety of our children and staff are of the utmost importance to Liberty Elementary School District and as a result, our district is closely monitoring developments on COVID-19.

During this time, the LEAP Program’s staff is receiving additional training from the Maricopa County Child Care Nurse to enhance their abilities and quality of care, by putting all safety measures in place following CDC guidelines.
