The Food Service Department here at Liberty is committed to providing appetizing meals while adhering to the American Dietary Guidelines that are specified by the National School Lunch and Breakfast programs. Menus are planned to ensure that when averaged over a week, meals comply with the American Dietary Guidelines for total fat, saturated fat and calories.
All district cafeterias operate under an Offer verses Serve method. This simply means that students are offered full meals in accordance with USDA requirements, but have the option of refusing part of the meal. This allows the child to take only the food items that they will eat and refuse the food items that they would discard. The student is required to take at least 2 full portions of 4 different food items (one of which must be a fruit or vegetable) at lunch and 2 at breakfast. Students are allowed only one portion of the main entrée however they may request larger portion sizes of vegetables, fruits, and starches.
You are invited to purchase a meal and eat breakfast or lunch with your child. Please be advised that it is against USDA regulations that an adult eat from a student tray. An adult must purchase their own meal. Please check in at the school office to obtain a Visitor Pass before eating with your student.

Breakfast is currently being served at all five sites. |

Students may purchase breakfast at all campuses for $1.00. Lunch may be purchased for $1.85 at all campuses. If you qualify for reduced priced meals they are as follows, Breakfast .25 and Lunch .25. A la carte items are sold to students with positive account balances or for cash, unless otherwise requested by their guardian. Adults may purchase breakfast for $1.50 and lunch for $3.00. Adult meals are the same portion size as the student meals. The government reimburses the Food Service Department for a small portion of each student meal served however reimburses the department nothing for adult meals served, resulting in higher prices charged for an adult meal.
Students and District Employees have an automatic meal account set up with a unique ID number. As meals are received your account will be charged. Credit will be made to your account as payments are received. Payments may be received by check, money order or cash. Please make payments in the morning as to not slow the serving line during meal times.
Charges are an extreme hardship on the Food Service Department. When your student's account reaches a low balance, as a courtesy to you, automated phone calls will be made as a reminder for you to remit payment.
Once a child incurs charges of $10.00, that child will no longer be provided with the regular meal. The child will instead be provided an alternate meal until the charges have been paid. This alternate meal will include a sandwich, a fruit or vegetable, and a white milk.
Student's accounts are continuous. If your child had a negative balance at the end of the previous year, that balance will reflect on the current year. If your child had a balance on the account it will also reflect on the current year. If a child graduates and has siblings still in the district, that amount will reflect on their account. |
